Winner of the 2011 Nanaimo Green Award and one of only three LEED Platinum certified projects in British Columbia at the time, this 1190 square foot house utilizes recycled materials, graywater and rainwater collection, an irrigation-free all-native landscape, locally harvested and milled woods, and heat pump technology for heating and hot water. It is also proof that building to a high LEED standard does not have to cost more than conventional building methods.
